Why Use a Recruiter
Conducting a successful search is a time-consuming, complex process best served through the use of a professional. A law firm or corporate career change can be one of the most critical decisions that you face in your life. Recruiters are valuable in numerous ways:
Recruiters are valuable in numerous ways:
- Search consultants (recruiters) have many established relationships with partners and executives with hiring authority. These decision makers in firms and corporations will often interview a candidate based solely on a strong recommendation from a recruiter, many times without a resume.
- Recruiters have information about the legal market not available to you.
- Recruiters know of firms and corporations, which though not actively looking, will interview and consider the right candidate should they become available.
- The Recruiter will provide you with pertinent information regarding the firm, the particulars of the position and the essential insight as to the individual with whom you will be interviewing.
- The recruiter will gather positive information from you, which may not be otherwise evident in your resume and will emphasize these details in discussing you background and experience with the proper hiring authority.
- The recruiter will provide you with interviewing techniques that can prepare you to best present your credentials and qualifications, thus increasing your chance to be the selected candidate.
- The recruiter will follow-up after each interview, both with you as the candidate and the client as the hiring authority, and provide valuable feedback otherwise unknown to you. This can be very helpful in assisting you to become the top candidate for the position.
- The recruiter takes valuable details from the client's feedback respecting their interest in you as a candidate and can overcome negatives through pointing out potential solutions based on certain positive aspects of your background and experience a client may otherwise overlook.
- The recruiter can be of great assistance in helping to negotiate your best offer. Due to the relationship between a recruiter and a firm or corporation, recruiters are able to assure you receive a compensation package meeting the standards of the legal community and are fair based on your experience and credentials.
- Should you receive multiple offers, the recruiter will assist you in your evaluation of the best working environment, firm culture, quality of work available and the right opportunity for your long-term career goals.
- Since recruiters know the market, they can save you a tremendous amount of wasted time and effort, as their knowledge will assist you in conducting your search efficiently.
Summary:
As stated above, there are numerous reasons why you should seek help of a reputable professional to assist you in your job search. It is highly recommended that you work with only one search firm giving them exclusivity for a period of time to devote to your search. Working with multiple recruiters leads to conflicts, duplications of resumes to the same firm that can looked upon unfavorably by the hiring firm. Use the recruiter with whom you have developed rapport, confidence, trust and who has the finest reputation for being ethical and professional. The recruiter should review with you the potential firms and receive your permission before submitting your resume or contacting any prospective employers. Ethic, professionalism and the respect of the clients and candidates define the manner in which The Legal Group, Inc. conducts its business.
Getting Started - Candidate Evaluation
The first step in the recruiting
process begins when a candidate submits
a resume to our office. After carefully
reviewing the resume, qualified candidates
will be advised of available opportunities.
If appropriate, we will make recommendations
to the resume in order to effectively highlight
an individual’s background, experience and
skills. As new positions are identified,
we immediately contact the candidate to
discuss the opportunity. Our office will
review the individual's desires, needs,
concerns and background so we can be effective
advocates on the candidate's behalf.
Response to Resumes
Unfortunately, our business
is such that in order to effectively service
our clients, we cannot respond to every
candidate's resume unless they are qualified
and meet the needs and requirements of our
client firm or corporation. We will, however,
evaluate all qualified candidate resumes and keep them
on file and in our database. We will notify the
individual should an opportunity arise
which meets their level of expertise.
Please copy and paste your resume in the box
below or forward via email in Word format to: info@thelegalgroup.net
